Georgia Bigfoot Hoax Revealed!

by GhostWriter on August 16, 2008, under Archived Articles

On Tom Biscardi's website, www.searchingforbigfoot.com, we find a couple Biscardisms after we read through his pep-talk-to-self. The second Biscardism is, "Excuses are tools of incompetence to build monuments of nothing....."

To his credit, throughout this Georgia Bigfoot fiasco, Biscard didn't make excuses, but he sure was key in building a monumental amount of nothing.

So what happened? Biscardi was hoodwinked by a couple of huxters who claimed to have found the body of a dead Bigfoot in Georgia. Biscardi flew to Georgia, was given a tissue sample and pictures in a hotel lobby, then flew back to California to make his next move. He didn't even see the thing, until his second trip to the area when he poked and prodded the thing in a broken freezer.

As the story unfolded across the web, and television news, the Georgia Bigfoot trackers posted videos to YouTube documenting events, such as meeting a scientist from Texas, who turned out to be one of Ric Dyer's friends playing the role. It was all a joke, a hoax, a way to show that it could be done. And how easily Biscardi and so many others fell for it.

I'll even admit here that in the beginning I was on the fence. I mean, I've never seen a dead bigfoot, and there were no detailed photos. But I remained skeptical. Now, looking at the closeups of the creatures face that Biscardi presented at the conference (right), you can see that the teeth look like dentures stuck into a halloween mask with some strip of rubber tongue hanging out. It does not look real. And it's not.

The gig is up. The hoax is revealed, and Biscardi hasn't made a peep since these guys posted their revealing video on YouTube. I wonder what he's thinking now?

Accompanied by a teddy bear and childishly talking about the bears nuts, the jokers proudly reveal their scam, which they claim was planned to just give the "psychos" something to do over the weekend. The psycho reference actually came out during the press conference, and they claim the phony Dr. Paul Van Buren was created to fool some "stalkers" who had been pestering them about their alleged Bigfoot body.

They still claim to have a Bigfoot body, but now that their true personalities have been revealed it's safe to say that they're full of it. They mentioned a possible book they'd like to write, and knocked some books previously published about Bigfoot, including Loren Coleman's "Bigtoot! The True Story of Apes in America." They're just looking for attention.

At the very least, what they have done through this hoax is remind Bigfooters just how cautious they need to be when pondering tales of found bodies, or other Bigfoot sighting reports. There are people out there who like to play tricks and pull pranks, probably many more than we'd care to admit.
